This workshop is presented by experienced UL engineers who evaluate products for certification to U.S. and international standards for medical equipment. This two-day workshop will help you gain a thorough understanding of how to use IEC 60601-1 and UL 60601-1 effectively. Practice activities include: analyzing a printed wiring board and verifying the construction components of a transformer to design specifications.

- Determine the applicable medical equipment requirements to design products for compliance
- Compare components construction to a safety design specification to determine compliance
- Apply a developed isolation specification from the isolation diagram to construction and test parameters
- Determine appropriate grounding/earthing
- Complete performance testing
- Identify insulation parameters and requirements
- Interpret world certification schemes and agreements affecting medical equipment
